CONFESSION - Oh That Baby Weight
I gained about 40 lbs when I was pregnant with my second child. During pregnancy, it was fine to have put on weight. In fact, it was a badge of honor to BIG. I would waddle around saying, " I am SO huge! I am eating everything in sight. " People encouraged me to eat....I listened to my mouth probably more than my body on what to eat. Thank goodness the baby came a week early or I would have gained even more weight. I was gaining about 4-6 lbs a week in my last month of pregnancy!
After baby came and it is time to get back to work, nothing fit. I knew that it was normal to not fit into pre-pregnancy clothes after only three months, but it was still difficult to accept. My pants barely reached my thighs before surrendering to my fat. My shirt showed bulges in six different spots! When, I sat down, the blouse buttons remained closed luckily, but the in between the button, there were gaps that were created by my blouse been pulled too tight. People could see my fresh stretch marks through the big openings.
I wore my pregnancy pants to work for two more weeks. Then I decided that I had to give in and buy new clothes in my new size - I not only looked ridiculous, I was having indigestion from sucking in my belly too much. I went to Target with a plan to buy two of the cheapest pants I could find. I did not want to spend a lot of money on "transitional clothes."
I picked out three different sizes since I did not know my new size. I went into the fitting room to try them on. I was shocked by the flabbiness that I saw. My upper stomach skin and fat hung over my lower stomach! There were saddle bags under my arm pits and around my waist. My inner thighs were bright red from rubbing against each other. I did not recognize the body in the mirror.
And of course, the biggest of the three sizes that I picked out fit. I bought a beige pair and a black pair for $14.99 each. Now what? I thought on my way home.

So how did you lose the weight?? Did you lose the weight? I have been waiting here. Are you going to tell us?
I have never been able to get the pregnancy weight off. I tried many different diets but I can't cook just for myself and the rest of my family wants regular food not my diet food.
Who cares if you are fat after having a child? Should be proud of your big belly...a child is worth it!
I HATE, HATE my body now. I don't recognize my body at all.
