SIDE THOUGHT - Accept people for who they are...Or?

My friend Nadine and I always said to each other that friends are not there to prevent each other from making mistakes...We are there to support each when mistakes are made.

Basically, we were saying that we should just accept each other and we did. That was the beauty of our special friendship. In fact, there was three of us in this special friendship circle and we all simply supported each other with no judgments and no criticisms. It allowed us to share all our insecurities and neuroses.

I often wondered if that was correct way to be friends...I mean should we tell each other that the lime green sweater is awful? Or that new hair color is unattractive? Or that the new boyfriend is no good? If friends don't tell each other the truth, then who will? But then again, family takes care of most criticisms, maybe friends should just support???

I have never been able to find a friend that just accepts me...they also want me to be like them. I hate that.

Friends should STOP each other from making mistakes! They shoudl not just sit watch them make mistakes. That is not right.
